Treasured Side Table & More

Almost everyone who visits asks me about my very treasured side table. I inherited it from my dear mother-in-law Mary. I think it's Dutch Colonial if there is such a thing? The top is white marble, and the back has blue/white/yellow tiles. I just adore it and am so thankful it fits (even if a little snugly) in this space. I know it's hard to tell from this small photo, but the portrait above it is of a yorkie on a blanket. When I first saw it, it was love at first sight! Our little yorkie, Brittany, that owned us for 14 years looked exactly like this. Unbelievable! Even more unbelievable is that it was only $40. My heart was pacing and I couldn't get it paid for fast enough! The shells in the dish below it are from Juno Beach, FL, and Tortola, B.V.I. - two fave places. Needless to say this side of our breakfast nook makes me smile! If I ever take another photo I'll be sure and hide the lamp cord and raise the valances a bit. It's amazing what you can learn from a photo. Like I say, it's ALWAYS SOMETHING. *smile* Thanks so much for dropping in and letting me share. XOXO

Penny your server is gorgeous! And you know how I love those tiques lol! And I LOVE the puppy portrait...and for $40? Girl you're giving me a real run for the "Discount Queen" title! What a beautiful space. Love the valances on your windows! And I know what you mean about seeing the room differently through the lens of a camera. Suddenly you notice all these strange little problems you never ralized you had before. On the plus side, you can show exactly what you want to....nobody sees that the ceiling in your master bedroom (aka mine) is painted like a sky and only half finishd *winks* Vanna

This is beautiful! I see you are relatively new to blogging too. What is your RMS screen name?
