Rest In Peace Bubba

While walking around our vacation home neighborhood a few days ago I captured neighbor Larry "Bubba" Hopkins in a moment of sun bliss. He never knew I took this picture and it turns out to be the last one taken the day before he died. Unfortunately, he was hit by a truck riding his bicycle. He will be missed by many friends and family.


Bubba really knew how to grow some magnificent flowers. You don't need a whole lot to enjoy this world and he knew this. This little home is right across the street from a beautiful park and beach.


What a cute place. I'm sure the neighbors will keep these flowers going for as long as possible in honor of his memory.

The headvases were given to me by a brother about 15 years ago. Although they both had been painstakingly glued together in the back, he knew me well enough to know that it would be the perfect gift! They move all around the house and are probably one of my top ten material treasures of this lifetime. Note to self to make sure I get a better photo.



I have really enjoyed this simple arrangement on the table through the fall/winter. The bird on the stick has been such fun. Think I'll keep her in whatever is next!

Below is looking outside the dining room window down the street. Once we had a couple of more inches the kids came outside for snowball fights. It was fun to watch! Hey, the home across the street is for sale...any good cooks that likes to share looking for a place in Georgia? I'll bring the dishes! hahaha
