Hey ya'll! You are SO sweet to let me know you miss me. I miss you guys too! I've been a busy bee trying to bring in some bacon over here on my side of the world. And I've been coming to your blogs, just not blogging about me because it's pretty boring. hahaha However, I'm desperately wanting to paint the outside of our home before it gets too cold, and I've picked out some colors, but I've canceled the painter
twice because of my uncertainty. Just when I think I have it figured out, I see a couple of houses and my brain starts spinning on it again. Whatever happened to the day when you picked out a trim and shutter color and you're happy? Has anyone noticed all the new ways to paint your house these days? It's crazy! To paint the gutters and downspouts a different color, or not? To paint the garage door the same as the shutters, or not? And we have metal overhangs and nooooo, you can't just paint them the same as the rest of the accents, you have to make them look like copper or bronze. Whew... I'm thinking what I should do is post pics of our place and get your awesome opinions so I can get on with this project. The paint is peeling and the wood is rotting over here. Yikes! Okay, pics soon...
The new banner pic is what the windowbox outside my home office window looks like right now. I'm really digging the orange color against the brick. The petunias I had in there earlier got tired. I'll be switching the flowers out again in the next week. Just waiting for the weather to cool off a little more.

Good morning Penny, I'll look forward to seeing pics of the house. Yes, picking paint colors has become much more complicated. You have great taste and whatever you choose will look fabulous.
I'm holding off a bit to put out my "winter" flowers too. I got a little too anxious last year and had to do it twice.
I only wish I had your problem.
In our 55+ community all 2000 homes has to be white. BOORRINNGG!!
We are allowed to pick from a very small selection of colors to have the shutters painted. I rebeled and chose a color not on the list. Haven't been arrested yet :) I dream of the day I can again live in a two story home in the mountains. Maybe someday?

Penny I am sure you'll come up with a great color but I have to say painting the meatal in bronze sounds really elegant... and I am so fond of the warm colors so you go for it... be bold and I bet you'll love it... Can't wait to see what you have chosen...

Hi Penny, your header is so pretty and your window boxes are beautiful, our house is white, I tell all the brits that we live in the "White House", but it is boring and I see so many beautifully painted homes around here. You will find your perfect colour soon, you do have excellent taste and your home will look stunning I know, big hugs, Kathy.

Hey there girlie! Yeah, it gets pretty down right complicated choosing colors...I'm for leaving the garage door the same as the base color instead of the trim color. If you paint the garage door the color of the trim it will stand out...I guess it depends on what you want to stand out or not...now was that any help, LOL!!!

Wow, window box looks amazing! I had one this summer and was so bad about watering it... I think it had a heat stroke.

Nice not to have to wait in line for hours for gas , huh? I got scared two weeks ago when everyone was going crazy.
